Since opening its doors in 2003, the Tea Area School District has grown alongside one of South Dakota’s fastest-growing communities. What began as a community-driven effort, with volunteers helping prepare classrooms and learning spaces, has become a thriving district serving more than 2,500 students while maintaining the same commitment to collaboration, excellence, and community partnership.

The district’s mission, “To educate and empower each student for success in a global society,” guides everything from classroom instruction to extracurricular opportunities. Students are encouraged to grow academically, creatively, and personally in an environment that prepares them for success long after graduation.

Under the leadership of Dr. Tonia Warzecha, Superintendent, Tea Area School District continues to focus on providing exceptional educational opportunities while thoughtfully planning for the district’s continued growth. Its strategic priorities center on student achievement, community partnerships, engaged students and staff, and responsible financial and growth management to ensure every student has the resources needed to succeed.
