Neil and Shelbi Backhaus founded Backhaus Excavation & Underground in 2016, combining Neil’s contracting experience with Shelbi’s determination to learn and lead the business side of the company.
What began as a small family business has grown through hands-on work, steady relationships, and a commitment to the communities it serves. The company supports commercial construction and residential utility needs, completing the essential work below ground that makes everything above it possible.
Locally, Backhaus Excavation & Underground has contributed to projects including the Tea High School addition and development at Bakker Landing—helping strengthen the infrastructure behind Tea’s continued growth.
